Dahar is Hurghada's old town and its oldest neighbourhood: narrow streets, small local restaurants, bakeries and a Coptic church. At its heart is the souk, where people from Hurghada buy spices, fruit and vegetables, fabrics and leather goods.
It is busiest and nicest in the evening, when it cools down and everyone is out. The long-distance bus stations are here, and the Marina is a short taxi ride away.
